Art Deco - Tara Hutton Gallery Original artwork recently painted to capture the glamour and essence of the Art Deco Era. Beautiful art deco paintings and mid-century modern paintings by Tara Hutton. The name Art Deco was derived from the 1925 Exposition Internationale de Arts Decoratifs Industriels et Modernes, held in Paris. To most it is considered to be a movement that flourished between the two World Wars. Art Deco borrowed heavily from and incorporated many of the characteristics and design aspects of Cubism, Russian Constructivism, and Italian Futurism. Add to that bold color, definitive lines and geometric shapes and you have the foundation for all that is Art Deco.
